Herb Garden Revisited

Update – The wingtacular has been moved up to May 16th.  We still have three more open spots. Click here to learn about the wingtacular.

A couple of weeks ago I planted 12 varieties of herbs and peppers in a self-watering seed starter that I purchased at Lowes.  You can find the link here. The whole thing went south when the self-watering indoor green house got a case of mold.  The mold covered all of the plants except for the pepper plants and the basil.  So needless to say, I have to start all over again.  I would not recommend the self watering green house starter as it pretty much sucks.

I have transplanted the herbs and peppers that survived the deadly mold created by my crappy self watering green house.

The only survivors were the chili pepper plants.

The Cayenne Pepper plants were fighters and survived the mold.

The basil, habenero and jalapenos also survived.

The peppers must have scared the mold away with their heat.

Overall I lost 61 plants to the mold from the crappy setup.  I am not sure where the mold came from.  It started growing almost instantly and covered the starter pods before the herbs even started growing.  I had to replant the rest of the herbs.  Luckily I had a bunch of extra seeds.  I sure hope that they grow.  I really want to start using fresh herbs.

Hopefully they will grow.  Like I said before, check back in a few weeks to see if I found my green thumb.  As of right now, the only thing that I can successfully grow is mold.  I sure hope that stops here.
