Every Friday I pick the best culinary events in the DC area for my readers to enjoy.  This weekend there are some great events to attend in and around the DC metro area.

Eastern Market Grand Reopening – (June 26-27)

District will reopen the historic Eastern Market at a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Friday June 26 followed by a community celebration on Saturday June 27.  The two events will mark the completion of the market’s renovation and recovery from fire damage caused in April 2007. With over 175 exhibitors on the weekend this is going to be one heck of a celebration.  Eastern Market is located at 306 7th Street, SE. 1 1/2 Blocks North of Eastern Market Metro on 7th Street.

Recap from the Beer, Bourbon and BBQ festival.

Check out a little video that was made at the Beer, Bourbon and BBQ festival last weekend.  It was made by Ben and Grant, whom I met while I was drinking beer and talking shop with the guys over at Pork Barrel BBQ.

  1. I work with the online community team for the Sprite Slam Dunk Showdown and wanted to mention that we’re doing a dunking contest at the National Capital Barbecue in DC on Saturday. The contest starts at 4pm and will be held on Pennsylvania NW between 9th and 10th street.

So grab some grub and come check us out. Hope to see you there!
