Lemon Meringue Pie

Sorry that I missed my post yesterday.  I drove from Michigan to DC and it only took 12 hours.  I saw multiple car pile-ups and a ton of bad drivers.  It was a pretty good Sunday.  Unfortunately I was unable to post anything for yesterday.  However, today I have a great pie that my Mom [...]

Vodka Cranberry Spritzer

When I was a bartender I made T-shirts that said “Vodka Cranberry not Cranberry Vodka”. Everyone always ordered a Cranberry Vodka and then they gave me blank stares when I asked if they wanted a shot or what they wanted the cranberry vodka mixed with. Yep, they make cranberry vodka. We stocked two kinds of [...]

Well it is the Tuesday before Thanksgiving and I wanted to give a few pointers.  Let me know if there is anything that I have left out.

BBQ Chicken Potato Skins

This weekend my friends came over and helped me build a home bar in my basement.  It is pretty sweet.  I will post pictures once it is finished.  However, this was the perfect time to Review the Book, “The Cocktail Primer” by Eben Klemm.  This is a great book on the basic cocktail.  It goes [...]

Pumpkin Waffles

So I purchased a bunch of canned pumpkin and now I am unsure what to do with it all.  So today I decided to break out the waffle iron and make some pumpkin pancakes.  Pumpkin goes great with breakfast.  Pumpkin pancakes are awesome, and honestly, who doesn’t sneak a slice of pumpkin pie in the [...]

Enchilada Lasagna

The other day I was craving both Mexican and Italian.  So I assembled my own version of Lasagna using Mexican ingredients.  It was tasty.  The tortillas made a perfect substitution for lasagna noodles.  They were soft yet crunchy around the edges of the pan.  Delicious. A dollop of sour cream and this meal is ready [...]

The True Sour

This weeks drink of the week is the True Sour. It can be made with almost any spirit, but today I made a nice vodka sour. Usually when made at a bar, vodka sour is made with vodka, sour mix and club soda, or with vodka and squirt. But today I am using a recipe [...]
