Beltway BBQ Showdown – June 5
This popular annual event has a new location – beautiful Watkins Regional Park. There IS something for everyone at this fun day of cooking competition! Cooks from up and down the East Coast will be competing for a spot in the national competition in Kansas City. You’ll get a chance to join the fun by voting for the best BBQ sauce in the “People’s Choice BBQ Sauce Contest.” A variety of pork, beef and chicken BBQ will be available for purchase from food vendors. Bowiefest – June 5
Bowiefest is a long-standing tradition in the City that brings the best of Bowie’s civic organizations, entertainers, and businesses to one place for one day. Around the pond you can sample food from area vendors including cotton candy by the Collington Masons, fish & chips provided by the Bowie Xpress, and beef barbecue by the Belle-Aires Twirlers. Other festival favorites include soft serve ice cream, funnel cakes, Italian sausage, frozen fruit drinks, and fresh-squeezed lemonade.

Vintage Virginia Wine Festival – June 5-6
In its 29th year this event is a cornerstone of the East Coast wine festival season, featuring a one-stop shopping environment for wine collectors and enthusiasts, as well as a unique opportunity to interact with winemakers, movers and shakers, cultivating your own understanding of what makes a quality vintage.
