We are always looking for a quick and delicious side dish to have with our meals.  This Garlic and Soy Glazed Green Bean recipe is the perfect side.  It is simple, delicious and easy.

Garlic and Soy Glazed Green Beans

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.  Once the water is at a boil add 1 pound of trimmed green beans to the pot.  Reduce the heat to low and simmer for 3-4 minutes.

Chill the beans

Remove the green beans from the pot, and cover with ice water.  This will stop the cooking.  That way you will have nicely cooked green beans.  Allow to chill until ready to use.

Butter and garlic

In a saute’ pan add 2 tbs butter and 1 tbs vegetable oil over medium/high heat.

Once the butter has melted, add the garlic and cook until the garlic starts to brown (Roughly 2 mins).

Add the green beans

Add the green beans.  Stir to coat with the garlic butter.

Add the soy and sesame seeds

Then add the soy sauce and toasted sesame seeds.  Cook until the soy sauce starts to reduce and thicken.

Perfectly cook garlic soy green beans

Season with freshly ground black pepper and serve.

  • 1 lb green beans washed and trimmed.

  • 6 cloves garlic
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1 tbs toasted sesame seeds
  • 1/4 tsp ground black pepper
