Pork Belly Burnt Ends are the most delicious things that may ever touch your tongue. They are quite literally the best thing that I have ever made. We like to call them Melt In Your Mouth (MIYM) Bacon Cubes. These grew out of necessity and then turned into a sensation at my house. I had a pork belly that needed to be used and I did not have the time to cure it. So I cubed it, smoked it, and turned it into magical bacon goodness. If you can’t tell by now, I freaking love these things.
With summer upon us, it is time to start enjoying some refreshing cocktails out by the barbecue. Nothing says barbecue like bourbon, so we created a cocktail that is a twist on a classic. We substituted bourbon for the gin in a Tom Collins and came out with a winner. If you are looking for a light and refreshing bourbon cocktail, this is your recipe.

For Christmas I received a Blackstone Griddle. It is the most used gift that I have ever received. I cook everything on it, from Japanese steakhouse fried rice to smash burgers. We love fried rice so much that I decided to come up with a recipe to go along with some Fajitas. I combined some tomato sauce, chiles and seasonings to make some of the most delicious fried rice that I have ever had. It is a huge hit at our house!
Every holiday season, my neighbor bakes us a delicious rum cake. While I am not usually a fan of rum cake, I really love this one. I had to ask my neighbor the secret to her awesome rum cake. She said the key was to use “the cheapest rum you can find”. This is totally my kind … Read moreRum Cake
A double smoked ham is the perfect holiday meal. First, it is delicious! Second, it is cooked outside on a grill or smoker and as a result you have an open oven inside for all of your side dishes. Finally, it is fantastic looking and smelling. This meal is a show stopper and will make your guests’ jaws hit the floor. Who doesn’t want to have a show stopping centerpiece for their holiday meal?! This dish utilizes a fully cooked ham that you smoke and reheat on your grill or smoker. It is so delicious!
The other weekend I was able to get my hands on a prototype of the brand new BBQ Guru Shotgun Smoker. While the smoker that I tested was a prototype, it is exactly the same as the production model. Smash Burgers are quite possibly the greatest burgers around! You take seasoned ground beef and smash it onto a griddle. You let the griddle caramelize one side of the burger and then flip, allowing a super tasty crust to form on the other side. These burgers cook quickly, allowing for the finished product to be juicy and delicious! These are hands down the best burgers ever. I love Smash Burgers!
A couple of weeks back, we received a selection of sauces from Silverton Foods. Silverton foods makes many sauces including Apple Rum, Cherry Habanero and Pineapple Bourbon to name a few. The one that jumped to our attention first was the Apple Rum Sauce. Who could pass up a combination like fruit and alcohol?! You know we love our fruit and alcohol here on the blog…well without the fruit, haha. The thought of a sweet apple flavor with a nice kick from rum sounded like a winner! Check out our review below.
