Beef Kabobs

Beef Kabobs

The other night Dana wanted some steak.  So I went to the store and discovered top sirloin steaks were on sale.  They are a rather inexpensive steak, but they grill up beautifully.  The sirloin is a cut from the rear of the animal.  There is a bottom sirloin steak and a top sirloin.  The top [...]

Mushroom Swiss Burgers

Mushroom Swiss Burger

Last week I tackled homemade hamburger buns.  They ended up coming out great!  The only problem was that I made a ton of them.  I am talking 2 dozen plus.  So I had to make a ton of sandwiches.  I love sandwiches so this was gonna be fun.  Last week I also picked up a [...]

Asian Beef Kabobs

The other day I went to the store and they had sirloin steaks on sale.  So I picked a few up.  I wanted to try something new so I decided to make Asian Style Beef Kabobs.   I wanted to do a skewer that was reminiscent of a Stir-fry.  So I skewered broccoli, whole water chestnuts, [...]

Panzanella Skewers with Sherry Vinaigrette

I am always looking for a new way to spice up a salad.  So when I came across this recipe, I knew I had a winner.  Grilled tomatoes and bread served over a nice green salad.  The smokiness of grilled tomatoes and bread add a unique flavor to this salad. I served the salad with [...]

Balsamic Barbecued Chicken

The weather here in DC has been all over the place.  We have had snow one day and a sunny 65 degree day the next.  Who knows what it is going to look like tomorrow.  When it is nice, I like to take advantage of it, you never know when it is gonna snow.  It [...]

Steak Fajitas

I was craving steak the other day so I went to the store to see what was on sale.  Flank steaks were on sale so I picked one up.  When I see flank steak I think of one thing, Fajitas.  So I picked up some peppers and an onion and it was on. The marinated [...]

BBQ Ribs On A Gas Grill

BBQ Ribs on the Gas Grill

My friends Ryan and Melissa have been promoting my site to all of their friends and have helped increase my readership.  So in return, I decided to cook them dinner.  I asked Ryan what he wanted and without hesitation he said ribs.  This worked perfectly as I have been getting a lot of emails about cooking ribs [...]

Cheese Stuffed Bacon Wrapped Hot Dogs

What is the ingredient that makes hot dogs awesome.  Yep, it is cheese.  What is the only thing that can make a cheese dog better, Yep, Bacon!!!  So I stuffed the hot dog with cheese, wrapped it in bacon and slowly roasted it over indirect heat.  In return I was given the greatest hot dog [...]

Grilled Artichoke Hearts

I went to the market yesterday and they had some great looking artichokes.  So I picked up a couple and figured that I would grill them.  Plus it would give me the opportunity to break down an artichoke and document it for the website.   Cleaning artichokes is easy but I can totally see why a [...]

Grilled BBQ Chicken Pizza

I have been on a real pizza kick lately.  Today I wanted to use some chicken breasts that I had in the refrigerator, but I didn’t want to just grill them.  I also didn’t want to use the oven as it is still hovering around 95 degrees in DC.  So I decided to make a [...]

Grilled Mahi-Mahi Tacos

After reading the cookbook Weber’s Way to Grill, I wanted to grill some fish.  I had no clue on what to grill.  So I went to the store and looked through the selection.  The only thing that looked good at the fish counter was Mahi-Mahi.  So I picked up a couple of filets.  When I [...]

Grilled Peaches

Since I purchased my new grill I have been grilling non-stop. I wanted to make a grilled dessert but was lacking in ideas. Then I went to the supermarket and they had fresh peaches on sale. Then the light bulb went on. I am going to make Grilled Peaches. The extra sauce was caught using [...]
