Growing up my parents would always make pork chops. My mom would marinate them and my dad would grill them up. They were great. So when I went to the store they had pork chops on sale. The first thing that came to mind was my mom’s marinade. It is a soy based marinade that I knew I could spice up nicely.

The marinade is amazing on pork chops.

So I added a bunch of hot peppers and red pepper flake. I like it spicy!!

Marinated Grilled Pork Chops – (good for up to 6 chops) – (adapted from my Mom’s recipe, Thanks Mom!)

3/4 cup soy sauce

1/4 cup lemon juice

2 jalapeno peppers

1 tbs red pepper flake

1 tbs brown sugar

1 tbs prepared chili sauce

1 tsp black pepper

Since this is a soy sauce based sauce, no extra salt is needed.

The first step is to mix the marinade. I place all of the ingredients in a zip top bag, seal it and mix it by hand.

Zip top bags are the best as you don't need to use an extra bowl.

Next place your pork chops in the bag, remove the air and allow them the marinate for at least an hour. I usually try to allow them to marinate for around 4 hours. Take them out of the fridge 10 minutes before you grill.

Look at all of those glorious peppers

When you are ready to grill, heat up your grill so that the grates are hot. I turn it up to high for this step. We want to sear the pork chops. After placing them on the grates, I turn the heat down to medium and close the lid. Cook for 6 to 8 minutes on each side. This depends on how thick your chops are.

Remember to reduce the heat, or else your chops will get burned on the outside and the middle will still be raw. Eww.

Next flip the chops and continue cooking until are done.

This grill sears amazingly. I love my new Weber!!!

Takes roughly another 6-8 minutes. Using a meat thermometer the internal temperature should be 160 degrees.

The marinade is amazing on pork chops.

Remove from the heat and let the chops sit for a couple of minutes before serving. I served these chops with grilled corn with cayenne salt. Awesome!! The step by step for grilling corn is here. After grilling the corn, coat it with a thin layer of butter and sprinkle with the cayenne salt. To make cayenne salt it is 5 parts salt, 1 part cayenne pepper.

This works great on corn as the salt makes the natural flavors of the corn pop, and cayenne adds a little heat to awaken the taste buds further.

A perfect meal.

The combination matched perfectly.

Expect a lot more grilling recipes now that I have a new grill. I love using it. Enjoy!!!
