I don’t know about you, but I love the glazed lemon bundt cake at Starbucks. So I wanted to try to make something similar at home. I experimented with a few recipes and finally settled down on this gem. This glazed lemon bundt cake is delicious and good looking too!
With summer upon us, it is time to start enjoying some refreshing cocktails out by the barbecue. Nothing says barbecue like bourbon, so we created a cocktail that is a twist on a classic. We substituted bourbon for the gin in a Tom Collins and came out with a winner. If you are looking for a light and refreshing bourbon cocktail, this is your recipe.
Dana and I are always on the lookout for easy and delicious weeknight meals. One protein that we usually never touch is fish. Mainly because I have had my fair share of bad salmon and other seafood. Recently, Dana’s mother made an oven-baked salmon that was super tasty. I had to have her recipe because it was absolutely delicious. Luckily, she was kind enough to give it to me and now you will benefit from this tasty recipe also. It is simple and quite scrumptious. The lemon rich marinade helps remove any fishy taste from the salmon. This is definitely a must try, especially if salmon is not your favorite dish but you are open to trying it!
I love chicken! It is the perfect blank canvas for any flavor. One of my favorite flavors to impart on chicken is lemon pepper. A little tart with a little bite. The perfect combination. Lately, I have come up with a new way to skewer chicken that gives you an added oomph of flavor. It works with any sauce and works especially well with marinades. The chicken is thinly sliced and then braided onto a skewer. That way you have little nooks and crevices that allow the sauce and marinade to pool. Then when you eat the chicken you get flavor bursts that enhance the experience.

Growing up, my family loved to hit up Red Lobster. Red Lobster is famous for cheddar biscuits, shrimp scampi and bringing seafood to the Midwest. Who wouldn’t love it. Chicken is a great meat for grilling. Chicken is a blank canvas just waiting for you to add a few ingredients to make it pop. This recipe is one of those simple yet extraordinary dishes. It takes 10 minutes to prep, 1-4 hours to marinate and 16-25 minutes to grill. Then there is the flavor. The lemon, garlic and rosemary make this simple dish pop with little to no sodium. This is a great dish.
A couple of weeks ago I picked up an ice cream maker at the discount store. It was cheap, but it expanded my culinary reach by a lot. So I made this super simple lemon sorbet. After tasting it, I knew it would be the base of an amazing cocktail. So I had a few cocktails and finally came up with the ratio of sorbet to vodka that makes a perfect cocktail. To my surprise, It was a heck of a lot of vodka. Hooray for all of us.
This can be served in a chilled martini glass, but I prefer to use a stylish chilled rocks glass. Mostly because my friends break all of my martini glasses. You know who you are! All jokes aside, it is easier on my pocketbook to make cocktails in rocks glasses.
