Silverton Foods Apple Rum Sauce – Review

Silverton Foods Apple Rum Sauce

A couple of weeks back, we received a selection of sauces from Silverton Foods.  Silverton foods makes many sauces including Apple Rum, Cherry Habanero and Pineapple Bourbon to name a few.  The one that jumped to our attention first was the Apple Rum Sauce.  Who could pass up a combination like fruit and alcohol?!  You know we love our fruit and alcohol here on the blog…well without the fruit, haha.  The thought of a sweet apple flavor with a nice kick from rum sounded like a winner!  Check out our review below.

Strawberry Daiquiri

It has been super nice here in DC.  This weekend is supposed to reach the 80’s.  So I decided to make a nice refreshing cocktail.  This week’s cocktail is the strawberry daiquiri. This is a quick and easy rum based drink, as long as you have a blender.  No blender, then this might not be your drink.  However, if you have a blender, you are gonna be transported to a tropical island.

Garnished with a simple strawberry this cocktail will socially lubricate the best of them.

The Rumster

Last week I picked up some different rums to make the hurricane cocktail for Mardi Gras.   Since I had some extra lying around I decided to make another cocktail.  This one combines my two favorite juices, orange juice and cranberry juice.

The Rumster

I served it straight up in a Martini glass but also enjoyed it on the rocks.

It is still Summer to me – Try a Mojito!!

I love mojitos.  The lime and mint coming together to mask the sharp bite of rum.  Yeah, I drink the cheap stuff.  Anyways Rum is good, but Rum with mint and lime is awesome!!!.  To take a line from Jim Brewer, Jackpot!!!  Hopefully he doesn’t get mad as that is his only line, but I gave him credit where credit was due.
