National Harbor Food and Wine Festival

The Food & Wine Festival at National Harbor® – June 12-13, a world-class event, will celebrate distinctive cuisine, fine wine, beer and spirits. Guests will have the opportunity to learn about the latest culinary and varietal trends.

The festival is located at the extraordinary National Harbor on the Potomac River, the largest multi-use project on the East Coast. A location that is minutes away from Washington, D.C. and a water taxi ride away from historic Alexandria, Virginia. Many world regions will be represented, providing a wide assortment of styles, but all festival participants share one philosophy — a personal dedication to their artistry and a loyalty to local, fresh, in-season, and responsibly sourced ingredients.

USA vs. England

At 2:30 pm Saturday, June 12, the Arlington Cinema and Draft House will be playing this game on the big screen.  This is one of the coolest cinemas around as it has tables instead of standard seats.  You can eat and drink during all of the movies.  Cheer on the USA when they compete against the English in a match-up that the US has not won since the 50’s.

Warren Brown Book Signing

Local Bakeshop owner Warren Brown, best known for his cupcake shops CakeLove will be signing his new book  “United Cakes of America: Recipes Celebrating Every State” this Saturday.  He briefly had a show on the Food Network called oddly enough “Cake Love”.  It was not bad, but it was not that entertaining either.  I must admit that his first book  “CakeLove: How to Bake Cakes from Scratch” was excellent and I am sure that this one will be too.
