White Pizza

White Pizza

Dana and I are huge fans of pizza.  Dana’s favorite pizza is a white pizza.  White pizza is different from your average pizza, as it does not have a red tomato based sauce.  White pizza has a garlic oil base and is then topped with a trifecta of cheeses.  It is basically, cheesy garlicky awesomeness.

In a small bowl or squeeze bottle add 3 tbs of extra virgin olive oil and 2-3 cloves of crushed garlic.  Swirl around and then let sit while you preheat your oven.

Garlic oil

Preheat your oven to 450 degrees Fahrenheit or your pizza oven/grill to high.  I used a pizzeria pronto pizza oven.  I preheated it on high and then turned it down to medium when I was ready to cook.

My pizza dough recipe makes two portions. So try some breadsticks too.

Allow your favorite pizza dough to rise.  You can use store bought, homemade or even stop by your favorite pizzeria and get it from them.  Here is my favorite dough recipe.

OIl Drizzle

Turn out the pizza dough and form it into a flat disk that is roughly 14 inches round.  Once you have your dough flattened out, add a nice drizzle of the garlic oil to dough.

Then top with with 4-5 ounces of ricotta cheese.  I like to apply 1 tbs dollops around the dough.

Add the Cheese

Then add 4-5 ounces of mozzarella cheese.  Then top with 2 ounces of Parmesan cheese.

Cook the pizzas

Place into the preheated oven cook until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is bubbly and starting to brown. In a standard oven this took about 14 minutes at 450 degrees Fahrenheit.  In my Pizzeria Pronto this took roughly 4 minutes to cook.   If you haven’t seen the Pizzeria Pronto you can check out my review here. Drizzle the pizza with a tad bit more garlic oil before serving.

The Ultimate White Pizza

This was Dana’s Favorite pizza that I have ever made for her.  It is so simple to make.  Sometimes the simplest recipes are the best.
