Grilled Vodka Lemonade Spritzer
I love a nice cocktail. It has been a while since I have made a cocktail for the blog, but I figured this would be the perfect summertime drink. Grilled lemonade, vodka and splash of seltzer makes this a refreshing cocktail for those hot summer nights.

Ingredients
Grilled Lemondade
  • 3 Lemons
  • 1 Cup plus 1/2 Cup Sugar
  • 1 Cup Water
Grill Vodka Lemonade Spritzer (each)
  • 4 oz Grilled Lemonade
  • 2 oz Vodka
  • 2 oz Seltzer
Instructions
The Lemonade
  1. The basis of the lemonade is simple syrup. Basically add 1 cup sugar and 1 cup of water to a saucepan. Turn the heat to low and stir constantly until the sugar dissolves completely. Once the sugar is dissolved, remove from the heat and you are ready to make lemonade.
  2. Preheat your grill to high. If using charcoal make sure it is a hot fire.
  3. Cut three lemons in half.
  4. Sprinkle 1/2 cup sugar on a plate and then place the lemons cut side down on the plate. Coat the cut side of the lemons with sugar.
  5. Place the lemons cut side down on the grill. Grill for 2-3 minutes until the lemons are caramelized.
  6. Remove the lemons from the grill and squeeze them over strainer into a bowl or measuring cup. Heating the lemons makes them super easy to squeeze. Watch out for hot flying lemon juice.
  7. Add 1/2 cup of the simple syrup to the juice and you have some mighty fine lemonade.
The Cocktail
  1. Fill a tall glass with ice. Fill the glass half full with the lemonade. Then add two shots of vodka. Top the glass off with sparkling water or seltzer and you have the most refreshing cocktail of the year.
