This is quite possibly the best pizza ever! Bacon Onion Jam and Pizza combined to make the most delicious thing ever!
Course: Pizza
Cuisine: Italian
Servings: 8 slices
Author: Rex
Ingredients
  • 1 pizza dough - Recipe Here
  • 3 oz extra virgin olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 4-5 oz ricotta cheese
  • 4-5 oz mozzarella cheese
  • 2 oz Parmesan cheese shredded
  • 3-4 oz Bacon Onion Jam - Recipe Here
Instructions
  1. The first step is either make or acquire some bacon onion jam.
  2. I have had some good commercial bacon jams, but nothing beats the homemade stuff. You can make it using my Bacon Onion Jam Recipe.
  3. In a small bowl or squeeze bottle add 3 tbs of extra virgin olive oil and 2-3 cloves of crushed garlic. Swirl around and then let sit while you preheat your oven.
  4. Preheat your oven to 450 degrees Fahrenheit or your pizza oven/grill to high. I used a pizzeria pronto pizza oven. I preheated it on high and then turned it down to medium when I was ready to cook.
  5. My pizza dough recipe makes two portions. So try some breadsticks too.
  6. Allow your favorite pizza dough to rise. You can use store bought, homemade or even stop by your favorite pizzeria and get it from them. Here is my favorite dough recipe.
  7. I find that it is best to set up your ingredients before you start. Having everything ready to go makes the whole process easy.
  8. Turn out the pizza dough and form it into a flat disk that is roughly 14 inches round. Once you have your dough flattened out, add a nice drizzle of the garlic oil to dough.
  9. Then top with with 4-5 ounces of ricotta cheese. I like to apply 1 tbs dollops around the dough.
  10. Then add 4-5 ounces of mozzarella cheese. Then top with 2 ounces of Parmesan cheese.
  11. Top with dollops of the bacon onion jam.
  12. Place into the preheated oven cook until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is bubbly and starting to brown. In a standard oven this took about 14 minutes at 450 degrees Fahrenheit. In my Pizzeria Pronto this took roughly 4 minutes to cook. If you haven't seen the Pizzeria Pronto you can check out my review here. Drizzle the pizza with a tad bit more garlic oil before serving.
  13. This was my Favorite pizza ever!
  14. It is so simple and easy to make.
